Not all lower back pain is equal. Most episodes are mechanical in nature and respond well to chiropractic care. However, the following symptoms warrant urgent medical review:
- Severe pain following a fall or trauma
- Bladder or bowel changes (loss of control or retention)
- Numbness in the groin or inner thigh
- Weakness in one or both legs
- Fever alongside back pain
- Unexplained weight loss alongside back pain
These symptoms can indicate serious pathology and require immediate assessment.
